Michael Graham Landon Jr. is an American actor, director, writer, and producer.

He portrayed Benj Cartwright, the son of the Bonanza character Little Joe, in the three movie sequels of the TV series.


Michael Landon Jr. was born on June 20, 1964 in Encino, California. He is the son of Michael Landon who portrayed Benj's father Little Joe in the Bonanza TV series and his second wife, Marjorie Lynn Noe.

In December 1987, Michael Landon Jr. married actress Sharee Gregory. They have three children.


Michael Landon Jr. first appeared onscreen at the age of 13 as Jim in the season 3 episode "The Election" of the Little House on the Prairie TV series in which his father portrayed a main character. He also appeared in the season 4 episode "Freedom Flight" in the same year and played the character Stretch in the episode "The Fixer" of the Suberboy TV series in 1988.

His main acting roles were the portrayal of Benj Cartwright in the movies Bonanza: The Next Generation (1988), Bonanza: The Return (1993), and Bonanza: Under Attack (1995). Thereafter, he abandoned acting and concentrated on writing, directing and producing.
