Early life[]
Sam lived in Texas as a boy. His mother died when he was 6 years old, and his drunken step-father beat him every night, until Sam finally had enough and killed him at age 14. Sam went to prison for 10 years, but was pardoned and let out after 8 years.
Later[]
Sam was hired on the Barbee, but was fired soon after when they learned about his prison record. He then joined up with the John Pardo gang. Sam was 22 when Showdown took place.
